Hardy Hybrids

Lo and Behold® Blue Chip Jr.

This series of compact dwarf Buddleja won’t seed about your garden, so no invasives to worry about. Perfect for patio pots, low hedges and borders, Buddleja ‘Blue Chip Jr.’ is smothered in lilac blooms from early summer to the first frosts of autumn.

Smaller growing than B. Lo and Behold® ‘Blue Chip’, this plant is drought and heat tolerant.

Over the past 20 years well over 150 new hybrids have come to the market, many raised in the USA.
More of these introductions will be planted in the collection this year. Currently this plant is available for sale in the plant centre but has not been assessed for reliability, hardness, habit and flowering.

The description is taken from the marketing agents’ promotion material and has not been verified by the collection holder.

History

A hybrid created by Dennis Werner at the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service, part of the North Carolina State University, USA. Dr Werner was looking to create a genuinely dwarf Buddleja that did not self seed.
