Purple Lion

A stunning fragrant Buddleja that is ideal for low maintenance borders or patio pots and containers. Buddleja are often referred too as the Butterfly Bush, as they are a magnet for attracting butterflies and other insects to the garden. Compact height and spread of 60-80cm.  (Taken from the web)

2019 This is a new Buddleja to Longstock Park Nursery and the National Collection as yet we cannot say how well it will perform.

 

 History

This cultivar was bred by Ball Ornamentals in West Chicago, USA.

AWARD OF GARDEN MERIT

15 Buddleja were awarded an AGM  at the 2008-10 Wisley Trial.  It was mainly the  Buddleja davidii that were judged but we have many others in our 160+ collection which are worthy winners.
